Annotation
ICM Document Solutions was recently certified by Microsoft.NET.4.0. This is significant for Line of Business (LOB) integration functions (such as screen scraping), for driving new business process enablement. Legacy client-server applications connect seamlessly to ViewCenter’s web services, expanding document management and compliance capabilities across technology boundaries (available with IT Professional Services assistance only).
Due to this integration, Annotation in ViewCenter is different from competitive products because you don’t have to leave the ViewCenter environment to annotate. Other annotation products force the user to download the document(s) to a local drive, do the work, and upload back to the repository system. The amount of time downloading and uploading large files or drawings can be a substantial bottom-line drain to your resources.
Annotation for ViewCenter may be the most universally used module for ViewCenter yet. Fundamentally, it allows complete PDF control:
| • | Engineering mark-ups include redlines, highlighting, notes, redaction and navigation |
| • | Annotation’s eSignature tool allows password-protected approvals, accelerating the Review and Approval process |
| • | Annotations can be saved to layers by users, for viewing (or overlaying) mark-ups |
| • | Familiar PDF viewer GUI and tools for viewing and navigation |
